Wilderness is not tame, not safe
Yet how lush and free
It calls to me
My very soul
We were not created to be contained
But let loose into the world
Driven by wonder And worship
What is that on the breeze which stirs?
It is an echo, a call
An invitation to something wild, yet wonderful
I can’t stop my heart from reaching out
Leaning forward, desperate to discover more
A yearning not satisfied by the kisses of a lover
Not satisfied by the black in the books
Nor the house filled with beautiful furnishings welcoming all who walk through its doors
Not satisfied even by the shrieks of a child’s joy
There is something more
Which beckons
Something I fear as much as long for
It is wild
It is free
The Father’s love
Waiting
For me
