Hi, I’m Emily!

Minnesota born and raised, I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with the Minnesota Vikings. I’m a Gryffindor and hold the opinion that a smile can truly change someone’s day.

I started this blog because I love stories. I believe words hold both power and beauty. I am a firm believer that our differences do not outweigh the similarities we share when you get right down to it – at the end of the day we all desire to be seen, known, and loved.

There’s only one person I have met who can fully satisfy that desire: my friend, Savior, and Lord, Jesus Christ. I’ve wrestled with Him about the big questions pertaining to identity, purpose, and who He really is. We’ve walked some hard, painful roads together – childhood wounds, trauma, loss, perfectionism, poor and foolish choices, bitterness and unforgiveness – the list could go on for awhile. He’s seen me at my worst and didn’t run the other way. He stayed. More than that, He has loved me with steadfast faithfulness through it all.

Why do I write?

Because I personally know the freedom, healing, and restoration He brings and I want that for this world.

I want that for you.

May these words and thoughts help you pause and rest awhile.

May they remind you there is always hope.

“I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.”

Psalm 118:17
